I met a dairy farmer from Oregon...
As a participant in Holstein Foundation's Young Dairy Leaders Institute, I joined dairy farmers and service providers from all over the country, for 4 days of leadership training in 2015 and again in 2016. My network of dairy professionals grew significantly! In December of 2015, I received a Facebook message from a woman that I'd never met. She said Bobbi from Oregon suggested my name, as she needed a keynote speaker for her upcoming Extension conference. I requested a phone conversation as I couldn't imagine what I would say as a keynote speaker! It turns out, she wanted me to literally, tell my story. To talk about why I came back to the farm and chose to take on this 365 days/year lifestyle. And, as it turns out, it's my favorite story to tell!
